Senior engineer becomes security guard for father
It's usually difficult for someone to change their profession when they are 60 years old. But not for Tang Bin, who used to be a senior engineer in Chongqing. In August, he started working as a security guard in a nursing home where his father lives.
Tang's father, surnamed Yin, used to work in a mine. In 1957, he was labeled 'rightist' and sent to a labor camp in Sichuan province. Tang was only three years old when his father left home. The two didn't meet each other again until 23 years later.
Yin said he became close with his daughter after coming back, but had little communication with his son, who was married by then.
In 2011, Tang's mother died. To help his father get through the loneliness, Tang began to spend more time with him. He decided to quit his job and work in the nursing home after Yin fell ill in April due to brain ischemia.
