Bird fights off three tigers

Most people would think that a crane is doomed if it is trapped in a tiger garden and surrounded by three tigers. But this time, the luck was on the bird's side.

A crane has wowed crowds in China after successfully managing to fight off an attack from two tigers with a third tiger looking on.

The bird was blown into the tiger garden by strong winds at the Fuyang Wildlife Park in Zhejiang Province while a number of cranes were putting on a flying show to entertain tourists. The two tigers immediately started chasing the crane; however, the bird fought back and managed to avoid the attack.

The keepers of the tigers and the crane explained the reason behind the extraordinary scene. The three tigers, around two years old, were still adapting to the new environment at the zoo since they had just arrived there, according to the keeper of the tiger garden. The keeper of the crane explained that a crane could become formidable during its rutting season and this happened to be the case for the crane which is laying eggs these days.
