Anti-Japanese TV drama temporarily banned
A domestically produced TV drama set during the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945) was temporarily banned from broadcasting, after online criticism of one of its love scenes.
In the scene, a woman hides a grenade in her pants while visiting a Japanese prison, setting it off later, which was widely slammed for the sexual innuendo.
More irrational plots like destroying a plane with a grenade and dancing suggestively in a tight skirt in anti-Japanese dramas have triggered online criticism in recent years. Many netizens said they are "ridiculous" and "immoral".
