Couriers send goods by boat in flooded city
The incessant rain in Changzhou, Jiangsu has severely affected the city with floods, with schools suspended and traffic interrupted. But the rain didn't manage to stop residents from getting their online groceries.
Delivery persons have adapted to the conditions and started using boats to ship goods to those who ordered them.
A local delivery company, Lou Kou, has bought dozens of inflatable canoes to do this. The delivery persons carry goods and the canoe on their motorcycles or tricycles, and inflate the boats before paddling across waterlogged areas.
“During the rainy days, the number of parcels of meat, fruits and vegetables and daily necessities apparently increased,” said Xue Jing, one of its managers.
