Pickpockets' photos exposed

A notice with 12 headshots of thieves was displayed by the roadside in Fushun, Liaoniang province, the official Weibo account of Liaoning TV reported on Tuesday.

The pictures, with two photos cut out from the notice, were displayed by the local police, who said the notice was meant to help citizens avoid these people and so save them from having their pockets picked.

Although some thought it was a good way of preventing theft, others pointed out that shaming thieves publicly in this way prevented them from reintegrating into society.
