Bull conquers bear in stock market statue

As we all know that bull markets are characterized by optimism and bear markets are characterized by pessimism. A copper statue combining both animals, with a bear trapped under the body of a bull has drawn a crowd of onlookers in Xiamen, Fujian province, with some people even burning incense before it to pray for good luck after the Chinese stock market saw a sharp fall on Monday, Sunnew.com reported on Tuesday.

Located in front of a local art garden, the copper statue is 6.1 meters long, 2.9 meters wide and 3.4 meters in height, weighing 3 tons.

The statue was designed by Cai Mingchao, a famous art dealer and collector in China.

According to Cai, the statue cost him several million yuan, and was transported from Beijing on a towed van a couple of days ago.

"The statue expresses Chinese investors' wish that China's stock market can go up forever," Cai explained, and he hoped the statue could become the totem for the Chinese stock market.
