Shanghai floods force stewardesses on 'catwalk'

As Typhoon Swan brought torrential rain to Shanghai on Monday morning, passengers at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport were stranded as the airport was partly flooded, qq.com reported.

In a photo trending on the web, passengers walk through a flooded gallery to a terminal at the airport, while flight attendants have to "catwalk" on a temporary bridge created by desks and chairs to their workplace.

Cars parking near the airport were also submerged in the flood water.

The rainstorm also submerged many expressways and disrupted traffic. Shanghai Municipal Meteorological Station has issued an orange alert for the typhoon earlier on Monday morning.
