I am not aware that there have been genuine problems, and as far as I can tell selfie sticks have helped introduce a new sense of fun into some museums and galleries. I'm not a fan of selfies, but I'm fine with people using them.

Should selfie sticks be banned?

Joo came to London from Sao Paulo in Brasil and was very surprised by the gallery new rule. The National Gallery in London bans selfie sticks and placed them in the same category as tripods, which are banned ''in order to protect paintings, individual privacy and the overall visitor experience''.The National Gallery ban follows other galleries around the world, including the Smithsonian museums in Washington.
