The Assassin
Protagonist Nie Yinniang was abducted by a Taoist nun when she was 10 years old. Thirteen years later she is trained as a professional assassin. The story centers on Nie's internal struggle as she is ordered by the nun to kill a man, who is also her cousin and a prominent official. Nie does not want to disobey the nun, but hesitates to kill her target.
