A police investigation has found that a man, surnamed Cai, killed his wife and two children over family disputes and then committed suicide.

Officers from the public security bureau of Xining, the capital of Qinghai province, received reports that a family of four had been killed on Sunday in the village of Wushizhuang in Datong county.

The husband was identified as the suspect, who killed his family and then himself, the police said.
