Panda beating video triggers outrage
An online video showing a little panda beaten on the head by a keeper when it was trying to get close has triggered an online uproar.
"Pandas' claws and teeth can be very harmful. Our keepers often get hurt by pandas even if they don't mean to. Keepers should gently hit the panda' ear or nose to let they go away," a staff member with the Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Sichuan said. The staff member also admitted that the keeper in the video didn't do it properly.
The Center posted on Chinese microblog service Sina Weibo, that it has suspended the job of the keeper and said it will investigate the case.
"Stop it t and please take care of them," wrote Weibo user,Jasmine-Guiguibupani. "Don't break the hearts of panda fans again."
