Rose Lin Zamoa, from Ghana, came to China five years ago to study Chinese. The 33-year-old used to cook for her university classmates. Her friends loved the food so much that they suggested she begin to sell it. She took the advice and started her own business.
Opening her own shop in China proved to be difficult, especially because she is a foreigner. She learned as she went, which she said was not the best strategy.
Zamoa started cooking and selling food out of her home, but two months ago she opened a shop in one of Beijing’s famous hutong districts.
