Opened in Beijing in the fall of 2012, the Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotel quickly became one of the city's most successful hotels.
Last week, Sanjiv Hulugalle, the general manager, received a letter of recognition from Canadian Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques for his outstanding services and the hotel's thriving performance.
"For Canadians, the success of the Four Seasons in Beijing has been a great source of pride as well as a 'home away from home'," said the ambassador.
"Four Seasons Beijing has been supportive to the events of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, since we love to make the hotel a successful Canadian brand and a hotel that brings the goodwill of Canadians to China," said Hulugalle.
During this Christmas, Four Seasons Beijing will help raise funds for Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC), a Canada-registered charity dedicated to helping young women from rural areas of Western China to obtain an education.
Located on Liangmaqiao Road in Beijing's Chaoyang district, the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing, with 313 rooms, including 66 suites, provides special features to customers from fine wedding services to traditional Chinese medicine treatments.
"Since the Olympics Games in 2008, Beijing has become a very competitive market for luxury hotels," said Irene Tan, director of marketing of Four Seasons Beijing. "But our hotel has made a solid success in Beijing by providing the quality of services and gaining a deep and comprehensive understanding of Beijing and local communities."
"I am very proud that the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing has positioned itself so brilliantly here – outshining many other world luxury-brand hotels, and in such a short period of time," said the ambassador.
On Nov 28, Travel + Leisure, a leading travel magazine worldwide, announced the 2014 China Travel Awards. At the awards ceremony, all eight Four Seasons hotels in China – Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Shenzhen – were recognized in several categories including China's Top 100 Hotels, China's Best New Hotels and China's Top 20 Boutique Hotels.
"As you know, people visit hotels for a variety of reasons. But they return thanks to a wonderful welcome, dazzling cuisine, and a great night's sleep," said St. Jacques.
He said the Four Seasons Beijing has not only earned the loyalty of its returning guests, it has also been recognized by the wider Beijing community, leading travel magazines, websites and blogs, and has earned prestigious awards that have distinguished the Four Seasons brand, generally, and its Beijing property, in particular, as one of the very finest in the industry.
In two years, the hotel won Best Conference Hotel of the Year 2013 by China BT MICE; the 2014 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor and Daobao.com.
For the 17th consecutive year, Four Seasons was named one of Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For.
"The hotel has brought quality, innovation and class to Beijing; has made the Beijing property a place where excellence is personified; and has helped to brand Canada – superbly – in China," said the ambassador.
