Chinese FM to visit Singapore, Malaysia

BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Singapore and Malaysia in early August, and attend foreign ministers' meetings on east Asian cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei announced Wednesday in a press release.
Wang's visit to Singapore, scheduled from August 2 to 3, is at the invitation of Singaporean Foreign Minister K Shanmugam.
After his Singapore trip, Wang will visit Malaysia and attend foreign ministers' meetings from August 4 to 7 at the invitation of Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman.
Malaysia holds the rotating chair of ASEAN this year and will host the China-ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting, ASEAN plus three (China,Japan and the ROK) foreign ministers' meeting, the east Asia summit foreign ministers' meeting and the ASEAN regional forum foreign ministers' meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
