Chen Lin is one of the most promising, talented female conductors that China has brought to the world. In 1996, she entered the Central Conservatory of Music where she studied conducting under Yu Feng. She is currently a professor in the conducting department of the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing.

Recognized as the world's premier pipa virtuoso and leading ambassador of Chinese music, Grammy Award nominated musician Wu Man has carved out a career as a soloist, educator and composer giving her lute-like instrument - which has a history of over 2,000 years in China - a new role in both traditional and contemporary music.

NLGX: Flower and Bird: Butoh, a Way of Life

Butoh was a post-war Japanese reaction to the flood of Western influences and a nation in trauma; Butoh founders Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno created a new kind of movement that eschewed the fine, "pretty" body language of Western influenced dance, in favour of more organic movements, such as squatting to farm, bending over under bundles, and so on. Performer is Yoshito Ohno, son of Butoh founder Kazuo. In Japanese; Chinese subtitles, part of the 2016 Nanluoguxiang Arts Festival.

Neither Man Nor Woman
