Updated: 2008-07-09 21:49 PYONGYANG -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) urged Wednesday the United States to take substantial actions to push forward the denuclearization process.
"If the US was really willing to get the Korean Peninsula denuclearized, it should take actual action to win confidence of the DRPK," it said. The DPRK took "action for action" as the pivotal principle for denuclearization, it added. The six-party talks, aimed at solving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, will resume Thursday in Beijing after a nine-month hiatus. The talks, which involve the DPRK, the United States, China, Russia, Japan and South Korea, will focus on the verification of the DPRK's nuclear declaration it made on June 26. |
