Pakistan army kills 10 more militants in tribal region

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan's security force on Tuesday killed 10 more militants in its one-week long operation in northwestern Pakistan's tribal region.

Pakistan's army, backed by gunship helicopters, pounded militants' hideouts in Bajaur tribal agency, killing 10 militants and injuring 14 others, private Geo TV channel reported.

Local people have fled home to seek asylum in adjourning areas, TV footage showed.

The local authorities have vowed to continue the military operation against militants in a bid to maintain law and order in the region.

Pakistan's security forces started its operation against local militants in Bajaur agency on Wednesday when the militants ambushed an army vehicle.
