Colombian gambling houses allegedly bombed by FARC

BOGOTA, Colombia -- Bomb blasts at two facilities of a Colombian gambling company on Thursday were set off by guerillas in retaliation for unpaid extortion money, the company has alleged.

Representatives of the company "Apuestas Ochoa" said two of their facilities in Quindio state, 100 km west of the capital Bogota, were totally destroyed, though nobody was hurt.

"There were two low-power explosive devices, supposedly set up by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)," they said.

"This is the result of not paying extortion money to this illegal armed group."

The explosions took place early morning Thursday. Apuestas Ochoa is the most popular gambling firm in Quindio.

Similar attacks occurred at two other Apuestas Ochoa gambling houses last year, police said.
