SEOUL -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is planning to visit South Korea this month to meet with his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Monday.

South Korea and Iraq are in consultations on the planned trip and the exact date has yet been decided, Yonhap quoted unnamed South Korean official as saying.

Talabani had initially intended to travel to Seoul last July but indefinitely postponed the trip due to internal affairs, Yonhap said.

South Korea withdrew all its troops from the northern Iraqi town of Irbil in December last year.
