TOKYO -- Nine people, including eight foreign nationals and a Japanese guide were safely rescued Wednesday morning after going missing Tuesday in a ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan, local media reported.

Police and the Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force found them in a valley about 1 km from the end of the ski lift on the mountain. None of them was injured, according to Kyodo News.

Of the nine, six were among a group of 11 foreign nationals who climbed the mountain Tuesday for skiing and snowboarding.

The remaining three rescued Wednesday were two foreign nationals and a Japanese guide who went out for a day tour to the mountain.
