North Carolina Highway Patrolmen stand near the entrance of Pinelake Health and Rehab where a gunman opened fire Sunday morning, killing at least six people and wounding several others in Carthage, N.C., March 29, 2009. The gunman was also injured before he was apprehended by police after the 10 a.m. shooting at Pinelake Health and Rehab, Police Chief Chris McKenzie told several television stations.
