Updated: 2009-04-10 17:11 ATHENS -- A school shooting incident in Athens on Friday morning left four people injured, one seriously. The perpetrator was a student of the Greek Manpower Employment organization's (OAED) vocational training program. He opened fire at about 8 am local time (0600 GMT) in the vocational college, injuring a fellow student and two employees before shooting himself, according to local media report.
The report said the culprit used two small-caliber guns. He shot first against his fellow student, and when two supermarket employees nearby realized what had happened and tried to prevent him, he shot at them too. The fellow student was shot on the ribs, and the two employees were on the hand and on the leg respectively. After the shooting, the student sat at a bench and shot himself. This is the first time a spree-like shooting incident carried out by a student occurred in a Greek school. |
