Updated: 2009-05-13 14:07 BANGKOK - Noppadon Pattama, a Thai advisor of ousted former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Wednesday confirmed Thaksin is holding Montenegro passport, The Nation newspaper's website reported.
Thailand and Montenegro have established diplomatic relations since late 2007, but neither country has had an embassy or consulate in the other country. Thailand's ambassador in Budapest is currently accredited to represent Thailand in Montenegro. Thaksin was ousted by the military coup in September, 2006, in accusation of corruption, keeping him in exile since then. Thaksin returned to Thailand in February, 2008, to face corruption charges, but he later fled into exile again and was convicted in absentia. |
