"The Shin Bet fears classified information may have been leaked, endangering the lives of Israeli who could be enticed to meet abroad with Internet contacts who have offered them deals," the Shin Bet said in a statement released on its Hebrew website.

According to the Israeli counter-intelligence and internal security service, an Israeli citizen was contacted by a man on Facebook who identified himself as a Lebanese operative and asked him to divulge classified information.

Thus, the Shin Bet advised Israeli citizens to refrain from broadcasting personal information on their network profiles, including phone numbers, areas of residence and e-mail addresses.
