BEIJING -- China's Ministry of Health Monday confirmed two new cases of A(H1N1) influenza on the mainland.

The confirmations brought the mainland's total number of confirmed A(H1N1) cases to 11, the ministry said in a statement.

In east China's Zhejiang Province, a 19-year-old man, who studied at St. John's University in New York, became one of the new cases after returning to his hometown Wenzhou on Friday.

The other case was a Chinese national who works for an Australian company in Shanghai. He traveled from Melbourne to Shanghai on Saturday.
