Chile reports 199 cases of A(H1N1) flu

SANTIAGO -- Chile's Health Ministry said Thursday that the number of A(H1N1) flu infection cases in the country rose to 199 after 31 new cases were confirmed.

Among the 31 cases, two were from the Valparaiso region, 13 from the Metropolitan region, two from the Biobio region and 14 from the Los Lagos region, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said it would not advance winter vacations in schools in the country, which is in the winter season now, as it was not an advisable preventive measure.

Chilean Health Minister Alvaro Erazo said there probably will be more than 1,000 cases of A(H1N1) flu in the country during the coming weeks.
