SKorean aboard missing plane confirmed

SEOUL -- South Korean foreign ministry said on Tuesday that it was confirmed that one South Korean was aboard Air France Flight 447 which disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean earlier this week.

The ministry said a 40-year-old South Korean man was confirmed to be aboard the plane after it contacted the Air France office in South Korea and the man's family.

The ministry earlier said that it found a man named Koo Hak-rim on the passenger list, which it was first notified as a Vietnamese traveler.

However, the man was later found to be a South Korean man, the ministry said.

Air France Flight 447 carrying 228 passengers vanished on Sunday night (local time) after leaving Rio de Janeiro for Paris.

The fate of all the passengers and crew still remains unknown.
