A giant panda cub sits in the hands of a veterinarian during a health check at the Chiang Mai zoo in Chiang Mai province, northern Thailand Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The six-day-old panda cub was the first panda born in Thailand and the world for 2009. The public is being invited to decide on a name for the panda. The Zoological Park Organisation (ZPO) board will then choose four of the best, which will be put to a public vote. Those who submit one of the chosen names have a chance of winning one million baht ($29,282) plus a free trip for their family to visit pandas in China. [Agencies]
