Suicide bomb hits Kabul ahead of poll

Seven people were killed and 52 wounded by a suicide car bomber who rammed his car into a convoy of Western troops in the Afghan capital on Tuesday, said Farid Raeed an official at the public health ministry. The strike, on the road heading east out of the capital toward the city of Jalalabad, comes two days before a tense presidential election. [Agencies]
