US airport guard accused of Obama threat

NEWARK, New Jersey: A private security guard at Newark Liberty International Airport has been arrested on charges of threatening President Barack Obama.

Someone reported overhearing John Brek making threatening comments at an airport coffee cart Tuesday afternoon.

US Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley says the 55-year-old denied making any threats.

Port Authority spokesman John Kelly says Brek allowed police to search his Linden home and officers found 43 firearms. Kelly says the firearms are still being processed, but no illegal guns have been found so far.

Obama will be in New Jersey on Wednesday to campaign for New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. Air Force One is scheduled to land at Newark airport around 4:30 p.m. (2030 GMT).
