TEHRAN: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday accused the pro-reform opposition of acting against the Islamic Republic system, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"Certain individuals, through law-breaking attitudes, tried to encourage people to act against the Islamic Republic system," Khamenei was quoted as talking to a group of preachers.

Meanwhile, Khamenei also called on the angry people to be calm towards those who have insulted Khomeini, adding they are "people with no roots."
On December 7, Iranian student supporters of the opposition leader and defeated candidate in Iran's June presidential election Mir- Hossein Mousavi clashed with police around Tehran University campus on Iran's Students Day.
Iran's state media have reported that some people burned a picture of Khomeini during the opposition protests on December 7, which has caused widespread indignation in the country.
