ISLAMABAD: At least four people were killed Thursday morning in a suicide bombing in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, according to local TV reports.

At least 11 others were also injured and they were shifted to the Lady Ready hospital in the city.

A suicide bomber blew himself up when stopped at a security check post in the premises of the State Life Insurance building, located in the busy Saddar bazaar of Peshawar.

The check post is a combined setup by military and police personnel. The security personnel have cordoned off the area.

Reports said that five to six security personnel were present at the time of the blast. The blast killed two people including two policemen and injuring 11 others, hospital sources revealed to media persons. But according to unofficial sources five people have been killed and 14 injured and about 10 kg of explosive was used in the blast.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

It is the second suicide attack in Peshawar in three days.

Four people were killed and 18 others were injured Tuesday in a suicide attack on the Peshawar Press Club.
