Indonesia's Bengkulu to hold national slalom test championship

JAKARTA: Indonesia's Bengkulu province governor said a national slalom test championship will be held in May 2010 after the first event last week was considered successful attracting national racers, the Antara news agency said on Monday.

"We will hold the championship again in May 2010 that will involve more national racers. The venue will be still at Panjang Beach area in Bengkulu," said governor Agusrin M Najamudin.

Slalom test held at a non-permanent circuit on the beach managed to attract thousands of spectators.

The governor said that the event will be held routinely to promote the beach area to be an international tourism destination.
