Heroin seized at Singapore's checkpoint

SINGAPORE: A 23-year-old Singaporean man has been caught with some 1.4 kg of heroin and other drugs, local media reported on Thursday.

According to local radio 938live, the man was busted with the drugs at Singapore's Woodlands Checkpoint and was arrested on the spot on Wednesday.

Besides heroin, he also had with him 200 Erimin-5 tablets in his vehicle. The drugs worth more than 215,000 Singapore dollars (US$153,000).

If convicted, the man could face the death penalty, the report said.
