In a related development, Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanavisit is going to chair a meeting with provincial public health officials across the country through a video conference on Thursday.

The minister will instruct the officials, mainly doctors, about precautionary steps for a campaign of vaccination against the new flu.

The first measure is hospitals need to ensure they have medical instruments such as a respirator potentially for a person, who may develop a side effect after getting vaccinated, said the minister.

Prior to vaccinating, medical staff need to explain possible side effects to a person, who wants to be vaccinated, Jurin said.

A person, who wants to get vaccinated, will need to have a physical check to see if he or she is ready for the vaccination, the minister said.

After getting vaccinated, he or she needs to remain at a hospital for at least 30 minutes to ensure that there is no side effect, Jurin said.

A pregnant woman needs to have a confirmation from her obstetrician if her condition is ready for the vaccination gainst the new flu, Jurin said.
