"The tragic incident occurred in Daman district at 06:30 am when a passenger bus heading for Kabul diverted from the road and turned turtle," Mohammad Allah the Traffic Police chief of Kandahar told Xinhua.

He blamed the reckless driving for the tragic road accident, saying drivers often overlook the rule and regulation of driving on the highways.

The carelessness driving on the congested Afghan highways and roads often cause devastating road accidents.

In a similar accident in last February, 39 commuters were perished in Khinjan district, 110 km north of the Afghan capital Kabul when a passenger bus collided a truck.
