TRIPOLI - The United States is ready to provide aid to Libya, including medical assistance for those wounded in the North African country's 2011 upheaval, US Senator John McCain said Tuesday.
He made the remarks after meeting Libyan Parliament President Nouri Abusahmain, during which the senator also "expressed satisfaction" with the political reconstruction of the Libya, according to the press office of the General National Congress (GNC).
McCain's visit came after US Ambassador Deborah K. Jones signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Libyan Justice Minister Salah Maraghni on counterterrorism and transnational crime.
