LONDON -- Thick fog continues to envelop parts of Britain on Monday morning, leaving dozens of flights being canceled in several airports across the country, local media reported.

Britain's Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog in England and Wales. In southeast England, the office also forecasts that widespread fog will linger in many places.

"Low cloud or fog, initially locally reducing the visibility to 100 metres or less, is likely to persist for most areas. If the low cloud and fog does clear in some places, warm or very warm sunny spells will occur," Met Office said.
