Flying Tigers is a symbol of hard work between China and the United States to accomplish an important objective:Prevailing in WWII. It's important to remember that, said the United States Ambassador Max Baucus during his recent two-day visit in Kunming.

The ambassador arrived in the capital of Yunnan province on Wednesday. In the following two days, he participated in a series of events commemorating the Flying Tigers, which include watching a newly made film dedicated to the memory and meeting Flying Tigers pilots.

Baucus was appointed the US Ambassador to China last year.

The Flying Tigers, formally known as the 1st American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, was led by Capt Claire Lee Chennault fighting alongside the Chinese against the Japanese.

"I'm worried that too few Americans remember that history today. Memories fade," the ambassador said. "So I think it's very important to do anniversaries to make more people know the joint cooperation between two countries symbolized by the Flying Tigers."
