Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing on Saturday evening after attending the seventh BRICS summit and the 15th SCO summit in Ufa of Russia.
President Xi Jinping said China will work more closely with South Africa in a range of areas including marine economy, economic zones, energy and finance.
"Economic and trade cooperation between BRICS countries is experiencing vigorous development. I hope that businesspeople from the five countries will work together to face any challenges and make contributions to boost each state's economy to a higher level."
The summit of BRICS countries in Ufa has been a "complete success" because the five countries have deepened their partnership and extended such closeness to their regional partners, said a senior Chinese diplomat on Friday.
The meeting has elevated the level of cooperation to new high as the leaders map out a detailed road map and agreed on concrete plans.
The Russian city of Ufa witnessed the launch of the New Development Bank on Thursday, a joint initiative by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and part of China's efforts to build a multinational financial network.
