The annual Global Go To Think Tank Index Report by TTCSP at the University of Pennsylvania aims at examining the role think tanks play in government and civil societies around the globe and increasing the profile as well as performance of them through conducting tracking studies and rankings based on an objective research system.
According to the index, there are altogether 6,846 thinks tanks worldwide. As to the number of think tanks, China ranks the second with a 435 while the US remains at the top and the UK and India rank respectively third and fourth.
"Chinese think tanks still have a long way to go in internationalization," said Wang Huiyao, CEO of CCG. "They should actively get involved in the global competition so as to make China's voice heard and global influence increased."
