MOSCOW: Russia has started to help deliver humanitarian aid provided by other countries to quake-hit Haiti, the Emergency Situations Ministry said on Monday.
Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu earlier said three Russian planes would stay in Haiti to deliver relief supplies to the disaster area.
Over the weekend, more than 100 quake victims were treated for injuries by Russian doctors who arrived in the impoverished Caribbean nation aboard one of the first Russian aid planes, said the ministry. About 80 people received psychological counseling.
