Mexico breaks record with tequila tasting
A week-long celebration in the state of Jalisco marked Mexico's first-ever National Day of Tequila on March 16. To close the National Tequila Day celebrations, Guadalajara attempted to set a new Guinness World Record for the world's largest tequila tasting.
1,486 people participated at the Plaza Liberacion in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on March 24 to set a new Guinness World Record for the "largest tequila tasting in the world".
"Tequila is the most consumed spirit in our country and thanks to its constant growth, it takes a little bit of Mexico to over 120 countries, where more and more people recognize its benefits and quality," said the head of Jalisco's Tourism Ministry.
