A supersonic flying saucer

A Romanian company says they have made a real-life flying saucer that could reach America from Europe in one hour. The developers claim the All-Directional Flying Object is the first vertical take-off and landing aircraft in the world able to fly in all directions. Low speed allows the aircraft to operate like a drone, but built-in jets would see it achieve supersonic speeds efficiently.

ADIFO is a flying machine designed "to change the paradigm of flight", according to engineer and inventor Razvan Sabie. Sabie developed the concept and has built a 1.2-meter diameter working prototype for testing.
