Youngest-ever Miss World Japan crowned
Marika Sera was crowned as the youngest winner in Miss World Japan history at the 2019 pageant's finale. Marika will represent Japan at Miss World 2019 in London.
Born to a Canadian father and Japanese mother, the 16-year-old high school student from Kanagawa came out on top, beating over 8,000 people who had applied.
Marika speaks English and French fluently and performs ballet and hip-hop dance.
Last year, Kanako Date represented Japan at Miss World 2018 but did not win placement in the top tier. The country has yet to win the Miss World title.
