Preliminary results show Lukashenko wins Belarusian presidential elections

MINSK - Preliminary results on Monday showed that incumbent Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko won the presidential elections, the country's central election commission said.

Lukashenko won a sixth term with 80.23 percent of the vote, while opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, his main rival, won nearly 9.9 percent, according to preliminary results.
