I think sometimes Chinese parents have somehow transferred their own personal aspirations to their children. Thus, the relentless efforts to study very hard, etc... The intentions may be noble but we need to understand that each child's gifts are different from another, even though all siblings come from the same parent. Perhaps what all parents need to do is to nurture and help refine the gifts of each child so that they can realize their fullest potential.
