Lao president congratulates Putin on reelection as Russian president

VIENTIANE - Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith has sent a congratulatory message to Vladimir Putin on his reelection as Russian president.

Thongloun congratulated Putin on his overwhelming victory in the election and the opportunity to serve as the president of the Russian Federation for another term.

"The result of the election strongly reflects the Russian people's trust and confidence in the ability and intelligence of your leadership," Thongloun said in the message on Monday.

The Lao president also hoped to work closely with President Putin to further strengthen the friendly relations and good cooperation based on the strategic partnership, mutual understanding, trust and assistance between the two countries for the benefit of the two peoples.
