The fashion show featured both Chu's works and new works from students of design schools. Compared to Chu's costumes, the designs from the students were more avant-garde.
About 200 government officials, designers, scholars and filmmakers attended the event.
Chu said the inclusiveness of the traditional Chinese cultural spirit echoes the diversified culture in Mauritius.
