The Henry Moore Studios & Gardens centre, based in Hertfordshire, has re-opened to the public, exhibiting its latest display Becoming Henry Moore.
The exhibition, which charts the sculptor’s creative trajectory from 1914 to1930, opened on April 14, 2017, and gives insight into the influences at play in the mind of Britain’s foremost modern sculptor, Henry Spencer Moore.
The exhibition presents Moore’s work from his early, student days, alongside his artwork from the 1920s. It also shows, in dialogue, the artists who inspired him, or worked alongside Moore, including Auguste Rodin, Pablo Picasso and Constantin Brâncuși.
Sculptures created by Moore, who lived from 1898 to 1986, have become greatly cherished worldwide, and can be seen on the landscapes in many European and American cities.
Moore’s work has even travelled as far as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to be exhibited.
